Paperwork!

Phew! The Barrie TC sanctioning paperwork is off the OAT. It took a long time to get it together but with the help of a few key people, we got our our routes done. In about 3 weeks we will be ready to kick butt against the other clubs in Ontario. We are growing strong in our membership numbers and I am really excited about what is to come.
Thanks Ted, Gary, Jamie and all the extra work from Theo! Good job!

Ready for 2010

So I've been home for awhile now and feel ready to tackle 2010. I have signed a couple new athletes and a few returning. Still waiting for a couple to finish their goals and race plan ideas. Should be a good year. Also, planning some Mega Training Days......usually hill training at Blue Mountain! Yuck!
As for my goals.......a new body. Done the old fashioned way, just so you know ;)
Maybe a few long races this year. Still planning...........

Big News x 2

Some exciting news!
1. The Kempenfelt Tri club is no longer! We are now the Barrie TC. Should be really awesome!
2. I will have a special blogger - my #1 athlete Kevin. He will be blogging his journey to the 70.3 World Championships.

So, keep this blog bookmarked to enjoy Kevins pain and triumphs.

Motivation

I need motivation. I need it now. Between having a broken toe (which is almost healed), a sick kid, and a busy schedule......I don't have anything left.
I decided to get my H1N1 flu shot since I am in the high risk group. The swime flu can be bad news for asthma sufferers so I did it. My arm is soooo sore! The Dr. told me it would be but WOW! I feel good, so no other side effects. Lets hope when the schedule winds down the mojo will ramp up again! Cross your fngers!!!!

Some great words

I wish I could say this is mine but alas, it is not. Tim Hatch posted the link and I stole it. Originally written (I think) by Chuckie V.

*Train for your worst possible day, not the one you hope to have
*Train to overcome self-doubt and to slay your inner demons
*Train for adversity, as adversity is omnipresent on Ironman day
*Train to want to be done
*Train to suffer
*Train for lock-up, as excessive eccentric loading is the name of the Ironman game
*Train to gut it out
*Train the gut
*Train to resist fatigue
*Train for pain

Pretty great summary.

Fall

So the weather people say its fall but lately its feeling closer to winter! With snow flurries reported in Sudbury in September.....I think its coming early this year. The worst part of it is, NO FALL RIDES! The temps don't seem to be increasing enough throughout the day to go out without freezing my butt off. The fall is such a beautiful time too. Right now its ok since my broken toe won't fit in a shoe anyways!!!
